Paris..contd

Last night I graciously forfeited my dinner in lieu of 4 jack and cokes, 3 heinekens and a cranberry vodka.. Sometimes its good to be numb.

Paris reminds me a lot of New York. Its pretty much the same thing; store fronts with apartments on top, fruit stands, people walking everywhere, taxis, a hardly cared for subway system, graffiti; street vendor/performers, bums.. I nearly thought I was in the big apple when the conductor announced the approaching stop.. lafayette.

I find it quite amusing hearing asians speak in perfect french. Something about it tickles my fancy.

I went up the eiffel tower today. Alllllll the way up. At first I was hesitant in going further than the mid section observation deck since the thing is old and elevators rambled, but Carol convinced me otherwise. It turned out to be pretty breath taking. The air was so crisp and the beam from the sun over the summit deck and city below was perfect. Everywhere I turned were couples making out as if they were desperately trying to satisfy the stereotype of Paris, whatever.

Tonight I was done with expensive french cuisine and decided to go chinese to satisfy my on going craving for san gabriel food. The hole in a wall I went to was similar to a 3 items; rice or noodles ordeal you find at panda. Dissimilar was that they heat up the entrees in a microwave in front of you and it cost me 18 euros (about 27 dollars). Imagine paying almost 30 dollars for reheated panda! Go figure.

btw.. I hqte the keyboqrds of co,puters found in frqnce: If I zere to type nor, qlly on qn q,ericqn keyboqrd; ,y text zoudl look like this: so to sqy the leqst; it took ,e 20 ,inutes just to type this dq,n thing: fuk!

Bonjour Paris!

Excusez moi, je ne parle pas francais,
Parlez vous anglais?
Tue s vraiment sexy!

Who says French people are mean to Americans? Parisians have been nothing but pleasant. Or perhaps they think Carol and I are from Asia? LOL.

They played "love today" at, of all places.. our hotel lobby.

The good ol' san diego

cove cave

This weekend i took a random trip back to the good ol' san diego.

It's times like these that make me reminisce upon the past.. the carefree (distant away from the parentals) yet strenuous (common anxieties birth from collegiate studies) days. Just a simple drive to the Cove brought back many memories.. everything from romantic dates to evening laugh factory getaways with the gang.. i was even employed for a whopping whole week once at a finance institute at the Cove. Ahh the Cove.. such a tranquil place. Today it was spent savoring a papercup full of imitation pinkberry's from "green apple" and then making our way to starbucks for a 3 hour afternoon date with GMAT. Who would've thought; yogurt, a cup of starbuck's sumatra blend and a GMAT study guide, could be so refreshing on a Tuesday night at the Cove? I did.

cove

Prior to the Cove, we drove up Mt. Soledad Cross.. the highest point in San Diego viewing 360 degrees of city, mountain, coronado is. and ocean. It's like the Coit Tower of SF meets Twin Peaks-but 360*. What more could one's set of eyes long for?

After the Cove, I had a itching desire to run.. so we met up with David and got reacquainted with the good ol' costa verde bella terra gym.. simply the best gym any residential apartment complex has to offer. I ran 2.5 damn good tear-sweating miles.

Then reality struck and I was reminded that I'd be back in LA within 2 hours. So here I am, after a perfect 2 days in SD longing for a place I once called home.
